I took all the “before” pictures before I got my new camera. So I think they may be on one of the disposable cameras that I haven’t developed. I took lots of “during” pictures that I think give a pretty good idea of what the room originally looked like, but all of them are after the room had already begun to be deconstructed. If I find those original pictures, I will put them up. Removing the lally column changed the room quite a bit, which you don’t get to see without those pictures.

During and After
Monday, May 11th, 2009My Font
Friday, February 27th, 2009The kids and I are home sick today. Bleh. Anyway, I spent this morning creating this font. It’s my handwriting!! I thought it was cool. Go here to make your own font too. That’s all.

Same Ol’ Same Ol’
Friday, January 9th, 2009There are a lot of things that I post about that I never follow up on and you can only guess whatever became of those situations if you care to waste your imagination on those kinds of pointless things. My list remains intact. I left to Ikea yesterday, but never got to Ikea. I got sooo lost. I have been getting by without the GPS lately. So the other day I was able to find my way to the Ikea in Paramus because I was willing to fork out one dollar in tolls. (I thought that spelling that out would make it seem like more money than $1. Did it work?) Ikea Paramus was sold out of the dresser that we wanted. I was going to have to wait even longer to give Si his gift or else give him a yellow or white one instead of red. Alternatively, I decided to make no concessions on the color or the timeline. We have another Ikea that is exactly the same distance from our house. I just have to drive through heavy traffic in one of America’s more dirty, ugly cities, Newark. Worth it, I thought. Until I got lost. It takes thirty minutes to drive almost three miles in this particular area, if it is during good traffic. (Again with the spelling it out. Should I say a half an hour? I’m trying to be melodramatic here.) So I only turned around three or four times before I decided that I better stop trying and find my way home.
I consulted a map and think that I have found my mistake. I better have, because Jeremy took the GPS again. I’m going to try again today. Then I am going to hide the GPS from Jeremy so we can find out which is a worse place to be lost in: Newark or Jersey City.
999,897,265,080. Now that’s a big number.
The List
Thursday, January 8th, 2009We made it to Utah and home again. Or home and then New Jersey again. Either way, I have that post-vacation feeling. I have a lot of catching up to do, and I don’t feel like doing it. I don’t think I ever went on a vacation and have not vowed to immediately unpack my suitcase when I got home. I don’t think I have ever unpacked my suitcase after a vacation at all. I just live out of it until it is empty. Sick, huh? So I wrote myself a checklist, which increases the chances of these things getting done by about .2%:
? Unpack
? Unload the dishwasher
? Put away toys
? Throw away the kitty litter
? Take down the Christmas tree
? Go to Ikea
This is why my blog is so well read by a couple of my friends and maybe one member of my family. Because I go there. Where no other blog will take you. Actually I think the only thing I’ll do today is go to Ikea. Since that sounds kinda fun, doesn’t it? I’m getting Silas a dresser for his birthday. His birthday was actually on Saturday. You were probably there. Well Jeremy and I actually only gave him a couple of action figures, not because we are stingy birthday haters, but because of luggage constraints. So we’re having another birthday party for him this Saturday. Just to show him who loves him best. Wanna know what else he’s getting???? Sweet, huh? We didn’t spend that much on it by a long shot, which is part of what makes it so sweet.
Hey, maybe I’ll post some of the highlights of our vacation when I can use a different computer or am willing to print and scan pictures again. I guess they don’t look that bad. But what a pain.
Excuses For Why I am Too Busy to Blog Lately
Friday, December 19th, 2008Washing My Hands
Monday, November 17th, 2008I would like to know how I got conjunctivitis. It has now been one week since Milo got sent home from school with it. It has been one week since I took him to the doctor and got a prescription for antibiotic eye drops that were supposed to keep him from spreading it. Well it spread somehow. Bleh. I hate being sick. And I don’t have time for it.
I have some serious housework to do, because my sisters, Kandis and Penny are coming over for Thanksgiving, or as I’m calling it now, Thadksgibeegue. I’m taking a day off today, trying to work on that. Tomorrow, we are heading to Philly, PA to meet Jeremy’s dad for some sightseeing while he’s in town for some conference. Then there will be no more time for being sick. Ever again.
I’m questioning whether the spell check actually works, because it had no problem at all with Thadsgibeegue being a word. OOH. There’s the red lines. Kandis’ name is also not cool with spell check. I think I understand now why some people’s blogs are so full of spelling errors. It is truly spell check’s fault. It’s okay. My eye is involuntarily tearing right now, and I am not sad.
